What is a Pivot Table?

A pivot table is one of the most powerful interactive tools in spreadsheets. It allows you to transform thousands of rows of complex data into a clear summary report by regrouping it through "Rows," "Columns," and "Values" dimensions.

This tool is a Lite (client-side) online version with core advantages:

Common Use Cases

$ Sales Summary

Group massive order data by "Category" (Rows), "Month" (Columns), and summarize "Sales Amount" to see performance trends.

πŸ‘€ HR Statistics

Analyze employee records by "Department" and "Job Level" using "Count" to see personnel distribution instantly.

πŸ“‰ Inventory Analysis

Summarize stock levels across warehouses using "Average" to identify items with high turnover or stagnant stock.

πŸ“… Budget Tracking

Compare "Actual vs. Budgeted" expenses for each category with grand totals for annual progress review.

Quick Tips

  1. Rows: Categorizes data vertically (e.g., Product Name, Region).
  2. Columns: Categorizes data horizontally (e.g., Year, Quarter).
  3. Values: The target for calculation (e.g., Price, Quantity). Note that Sum and Avg only work on numbers.

Frequently Asked Questions

Is my data safe? Is there a risk of leakage?
Absolutely. This tool uses Client-side ONLY technology. All data parsing and calculating happen in your browser's memory. No data is sent to our servers.
Why does the "Sum" result in 0 or an error?
Mathematical operations like Sum and Average require the Value field to contain numeric data. If the fields contain text or currency symbols that cannot be parsed, they may be ignored.
How many rows can this tool handle?
It depends on your system's RAM. Usually, datasets up to 100,000 rows can be processed in seconds. Datasets with millions of rows might cause browser lag.
Can I open the exported file in Excel?
Yes. "Export Result" generates a standard .xlsx file that preserves the layout and data, compatible with Microsoft Excel, Google Sheets, and LibreOffice.
Does it handle empty cells?
Yes. Empty cells are categorized as "(Empty)". Aggregation functions will generally skip null or non-numeric values.
What are "Rows" and "Columns"?
Rows define the depth of the report (vertical entries), while Columns define the width (horizontal expansion). For example, to see sales by region, Region is the Row.
Does it support multiple nested fields?
This Lite version supports multiple nested row fields. Column fields are currently limited to a single level for performance and mobile readability.
How do I reset my settings?
You can click the "Clear" text above the row/col fields or click "Change File" at the top to reset the entire application.
